Technical specifications

Derived from the Clio Renault Sport 2.0 16V, the F4R engine is very similar to the production version. The main modification is the use of a semi-dry sump to avoid oil outages in long bends. The dynamic air intake, off set cam timing and specifi c electronic management guarantee superior performance to the production version. The engine is sealed on delivery.

The six-speed sequential gearbox is designed by Sadev. Drivers can chose from three sets of ratios (short, medium and long).

The Formula Renault 2.0 has a Tatuus carbon-fibre monocoque chassis. It complies with “1999 FIA F3” standards. The nose cone, made of a deformable crash structure to absorb front impacts, complies with “2008 FIA F3” standards.

The Formula Renault 2.0 has a new body this year, inspired by its "big sister", the Formula Renault 3.5. Apart from the rear wing and the engine hood, everything is new: the nose cone (1) and front wing (2), ‘barge boards’ (3), sidepods (4) with integrated chimneys to expel hot air (5), ‘tyre ramps’ (6), undertray (7), diffuser (8) and rear spoiler fi ns (9). This is the second major aerodynamic change since 2004. Although improving the performance was not the purpose of this change, the Formula Renault 2.0 has also become more stable in the fast bends thanks to greater effi ciency of the front wing.

The compression and rebound-adjustable Oram spring-shock absorbers are longitudinally mounted and pushrod-actuated. Mono-shock absorber is used at the front with twin-shock absorbers at the rear.
