Created in 2004, the Clio Cup Rally immediately became known as the promotional formula which gives you the most driving pleasure for your money.

The car is based on Clio 1.6 16V with an additional kit sold by Renault Sport for 19,000 euros (ex. VAT). The main mechanical components (engine, gearbox, suspension, ECU) are sealed and therefore cannot be enhanced, which guarantees that everyone competes on an equal footing. Running costs are also kept at a reasonable level by using production Michelin tyres.

Though the car is neither expensive to buy or to run, Renault Sport is offering significant prize money: in 2006 a total of 500,000 € is on offer! This means that the winner of an event walks away with 5,000 €. At the end of the season, the best driver will win a official drive in the 2007 French Championship. A nice little present worth more than 275,000 €!
